!W-
V
may not be introduced.
RECOMMENDATIONS
The proposed changes are not in keeping with the letter of the
above standards i.e. the size, materials, and proportion of
original or existing openings shall not be changed.
However, the building has been significantly altered: synthetic
siding, contemporary windows and doors have been added.
Similarly, the garage has been resided and attached to the main
building with an enclosed breezeway (c. 1960). An interior
inspection of the garage shows that several window openings have
been sided over.
The staff's analysis is that the overall character, style, and
integrity of the building/site will not be significantly
compromised by the nature of the proposed changes.
The staff recommendation is as follows:
1) Approve overall change. Choose more visually compatible door
(e.g. #SI 944 in submitted brochure).
2) Approve overall change. Choose more visually compatible door.
(e.g. #SI 900 in submitted brochure).
3) Approve as submitted (size of windows is approximate size of
existing window on west side of garage.
-- James V. Pastor
Staff, Historic Preservation
