0 10 4)
historic preservatoon commossuon
of south bend and st. joseph county
I ROOM 1123 COUNTY CITY BUILDING
south bend, indiana 46601 (219) 284-9798
M E M 0 R A N D U M
TO: HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
FROM: FRED HOLYCROSS
RE: MAY HPC MEETING
This month's meeting is May 18, 1992 at the regular time and
place. As you can see from the agenda, it is a busy time of year
for COA's! The remainder of the meeting, other than regular
business, consists of first readings for several proposed
Landmarks and the proposed Local Historic'District east of
Memorial Hospital. You will have reports concerning each of these
before second readings in June.
One note: due to the increasing number of COAs, both Jim and I
will be handling individual cases as our schedules permit. Staff
reports submitted to you will reflect the opinion of the staff
person assessing the case; in other words, Jim and I may not
necessarily agree with the others opinion or assessment of a
particular project. If Commission members would like me attach an
addendum to reports that I differ with, I would be glad to do so
if requested.
One final note: as,you can see from this month's packet, the
quality of photocopied materials is not always the best. our
copying costs have more than doubled since last year due to an
increase in fees assessed by MACOG, the office adjacent to ours
that has been allowing us to "rent" the use of their copier.
Last month, the County made available to us an extremely old,
used copier. it, however, has many problems that need to be
fixed, unfortunately our budget does not allow for that at this
time. We will try to provide you with materials that are
readable; I ask for your patience ....
