If new sash and doors are used the <br />existing or original materials, design and hardware <br />should be used. When metal storm windows and doors <br />are used they should be painted, 'anodized or coated <br />to match the existing. <br />3) <br />Prohibited <br />Existing or original windows, doors and hardware <br />shall not be discarded when they can be restored and <br />reused in place. New windows or door openings that <br />would alter the scale and proportion of the building <br />may not be introduced. Inappropriate new window or <br />door features ... that reauire the removal of <br />original windows and doors may not be installed. <br />D) Entrances. Porches, and Steps <br />1) <br />Required <br />Existing or original porches and ste_rs shall be <br />retained or replaced by replicas of the same design <br />and materials when deteriorated beyond repair. <br />Porches and additions reflectina later architectural <br />steles, and which are important to the building'_ <br />historic integrity shall be retained. <br />3) <br />Prohibited <br />Porches and steps that are important to the <br />building's style and development may not be altered <br />or removed. <br />.4) Not Recommended <br />Original porch details should not be replaced with <br />materials representing a different period or style <br />from, the original. <br />
