Lena, the daughter of,Jacob Eigenheer Sr., was also interred in
<br />Tutt -Stuckey. She was born in Clay Township on August 12, 1866
<br />and was a lifelong resident there.[44]
<br />Jacob Jr., the son of Jacob Eigenheer Sr., was born on July 21,
<br />1864 in Clay Township. His occupation was that of a farmer and he
<br />was also a school teacher most of his life. Upon his demise in
<br />May 1932, his last remains were interred at Tutt-Stuckey.[45]
<br />BUCHER
<br />Ulrich Bucher was born in Switzerland on August 15, 1784. Upon
<br />attaining the proper age he completed his military service
<br />according to the laws of his country. In 1833, he and his wife
<br />left Switzerland for America, first settling on a farm in Stark
<br />County, Ohio. Soon after he moved to St. Joseph County, where he
<br />purchased a farm in Clay Township. He and his wife had seven
<br />children. Upon his death on October 24, 1858 he was buried at
<br />Tutt -Stuckey cemetery. Another member of the Bucher family
<br />interred here was Peter Bucher, who died on May 5, 1867, at the
<br />age of 44 years and 5 months.
<br />There are four soldiers buried in Tutt -Stuckey: Elias Leich,
<br />Lewis Fulkerson, Donald Cox, and Isaac Eaton.
<br />Elias Leich died on September 29, 1899, and according to the
<br />Graves Rbgistration Project, was a Civil War veteran. Also
<br />interred from the Leich family are his children, John Leich who
<br />died on March 11, 1863 at the age of eight, and his daughter
<br />Alice Leich who died on January 18, 1859 at the age of one year.
<br />His wife, Mary B. Leich, is also buried in Tutt -Stuckey.
<br />Lewis Fulkerson (GRP) is another Civil War veteran interred in
<br />Tutt -Stuckey. Also buried from the Fulkerson family are John
<br />Fulkerson, who died on April 28, 1908;'and Edwin L. Fulkerson who
<br />died in 1915. Lewis Fulkerson's wife, Mary A., and their infant,
<br />Orsen, are also interred here.
<br />Donald L. Cox, a Marine Corps veteran, is also buried in
<br />Tutt -Stuckey. He was born on June 7, 1901 in Cassopolis and lived
<br />here most of his life. On October 24, 1924 in South Bend, he
<br />married Beatrice Bensley, who died on January 11, 1972 and was
<br />interred here. On April 9, 1977 he married Mary Chandler. Donald
<br />Cox, was retired from the LaSalle Hotel. From his first marriage
<br />he had two daughters, Mrs. Jenette Sigler and Mrs. Donna Staples,
<br />and three sons, James R., Norman A. and Donald F. Cox.[46]
<br />Isaac Eaton fought in the War of 1812. His biographical
<br />information and that of his family is discussed above.
