c. 58666 Ireland - WPA House <br />Karen Kiemnec of H.L.F.I. was present <br />and spoke briefly about the structure <br />and architectural design of the house. <br />Mrs. Sporleder motioned for approval, <br />Mr. Newburn seconded; motion approved. <br />The motion was ammended to include the <br />barn, significant landscape features, <br />the caretaker's house and outbuildings. <br />6. Public Relations and Community Education <br />No Report <br />7. Personnel <br />A committee meeting -to review the staff <br />contracts will be scheduled. <br />8. Staff Report <br />a. Growth Management Conference - 5/1 <br />Mr. Oxian reported the conference was <br />excellent, but the attendence of the <br />Commission Members was poor. John <br />reminded the Commission Members that <br />they must attend a "recognized conference" <br />every year in order to continue with <br />the qualifications of the Commission <br />according to state and federal law. <br />There were 34 registered persons in <br />attendance along with several walk-ins. <br />A tour of Union Station was provided. <br />And the Mayor's Assistant, who was also <br />in attendance, complimented the organization <br />and success of the conference. <br />V. Old Business <br />A. Midwest Regional Trust Conference 4/91 <br />Mr. Pastor provided a report on the <br />conference. Mr. Oxian reminded Mr. <br />Pastor that the -Commission needs to <br />set-up maintainance standards for <br />Landmarks. <br />B. West Washington District <br />Mks. Dixon is currently working on the <br />National Register extension for the <br />West Washington District. She will <br />also mail notifications to the <br />neighborhood organizations. <br />C. Dardeh Road Bridge <br />Mrs. Dixon mailed correspondence to the <br />County Commissioners who as of this date <br />have not replied. Mrs. Sporleder spoke <br />about the reconstruction of Douglas Road <br />which will include the removal of several <br />giant Oak Trees located in the Notre Dame <br />Woods. <br />
