MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Third Floor Conference Room County/City Building <br />7:30 p.m. --County Council Caucus Room (Room 411) <br />March 18, 1991 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m.. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members Present: Mr. John Oxian, Mrs. Joann Sporleder, <br />Mr. Odell Newburn, Mrs. Jean Dennen, Mrs. Martha Choitz, <br />Mrs. Lori Dixon - Director, Mr. James Pastor - Survey <br />Manager, Mrs. Gloria Gaytan - Secretary. <br />Members Absent: Mr. Herb Herendeen, Mr. Jed Eide, Mr. <br />Bill Welsheimer, Mrs. Janeanne Petrass. Ms. Aladean <br />DeRose - City Attorney. <br />Others Present: Barbara Steele - Southhold <br />Restorations, Fred Holycross - Research Assistant and <br />Laura Vinnedge - visitor, Kevin Boughal - South Bend <br />Tribune, Susie Booker - Surveyor. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness <br />No Report. <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Minutes - February 18, 1991 <br />Mrs. Dennen requested that under Historic Landmarks <br />paragraphs 8 and 10 her name be replaced by Mrs. <br />Dixon's who would be responsible for inspecting the <br />Potpourri house and writing a letter to Code <br />Enforcement. <br />Mr. Oxian requested that under New Business the <br />first paragraph include his name as the author of <br />the Amendment of the goals and objectives for 1991. <br />Mr. Oxian also wanted it noted that under Old <br />Business B), paragraph 6 was out of place. <br />Mr. Newburn moved that the minutes be approved'as <br />amended: Mrs. Choitz seconded: motion approved. <br />A discussion regarding the minutes followed. Some <br />members felt they were too lengthy. Minutes should <br />reflect the actions taken, whether a motion was <br />made and whether it was or was not approved. <br />1 <br />
