Committee, if changes are needed in the C. of
A. before the project meets code. Mr. Oxian
stated that, in his discussion of the matter
with Mr. Pastor, he stated that the
contractor provide a written statement from
the building department indicating that the
approved window size does not meet code.
The Commission suggested that the staff
request written documentation of the
potential code violation and find out whether
or not the contractor or property owner
actually procured a building permit. If a
permit was obtained, then the Commission may
assume that the approved window meets code.
If the contractor or owner provides
documentation to the contrary, the staff and
C. of A. committee will work with the owners
and contractor to develop a mutually
satisfactory plan. Mr. Pastor further stated
that the contractor and owners indicated
their intent to re -submit an application for
a certificate of appropriateness.
2. Budget & Finance
a. 1991-1992 Grants
Mr. Pastor stated that Mrs. Dixon
attended the State Review Board Meeting
in Indianapolis. At that meeting, the
board decided to table the majority of
the grant applications due to some
confusion regarding the application
process for Certified Local Governments.
The CLG grant applications, and those
which may be effected by changes in the
status of these grants, were tabled until
April.
3. Legal
No Report
4. Historic District
a) South Michigan Potential District
Mr. Oxian made a proposal that the
Commission begin working on the
development of a district in the area of
the 500 and 600 blocks of S. Carroll and
St. Joseph Streets and the 500 block of
S. Michigan Street. Mr. Oxian stated
that he had discussed the matter with
both Jon Hunt (Economic Development) and
Carter Wolf (Center City Associates), and
that both gentlemen agreed that such a
district would be beneficial to the area.
