2. Budget & Finance <br />a. Community Development Block Grant Proposal <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that, at the Commission's direction, <br />she had turned in a proposal - for $13,650 in grant____.___ <br />-- - -- - -- ---- ---------- <br />--- -----funding_from the city and that the Commission should <br />hear something on -it within the next two months. <br />3. Legal <br />a. New City Attorney's representative. <br />Alndean DeRose introduced herself as city attorney <br />representative to the HPC. <br />4. Historic Districts <br />No Report <br />5. Historic Landmarks <br />a. 723 Park Avenue <br />Mr. Oxian gave first reading on the landmark request. <br />Mr. _Oxian further•'reported-_that the'. properties at 1533 <br />Lincoln Way West and 119 LaPorte Ave. had been declared <br />local landmarks at the last Common Council meeting. He <br />also reported that the owners of the Cunningham House <br />had filed forms for facade easement. Mr. Oxian met -with <br />the Auditor of the County and they sent the forms on to( <br />the state tax review board. <br />6. Public Relations and Community Education <br />No Report <br />7. Personnel <br />a. Report of Committee Meeting <br />The Commission will be writing a proposal for an <br />internship program. Mr. Oxian also stated that he <br />would like to see better guidelines for writing histories <br />of structures on the survey cards. <br />8. Staff Report <br />a. Bi -Monthly Report <br />Mrs. Dixon stated that the Bi -Monthly Report (see <br />page 10) was brief due to the large amount of time <br />spent finishing the grant. Mr. Pastor will be providing <br />bi-monthly reports in the future. <br />V. Old Business <br />1. Trees on Lincoln Way West <br />Mr. Oxian reported that an ordinance would be sent to the County <br />Council seeking landmark status for the twelve or so large <br />oak trees along Lincoln Way West. - <br />2. ' Trees on Edison <br />Mr. Oxian reported that only two trees along Edison would be <br />removed, rather than the nine as originally reported. Mrs. <br />Dixon reported that she has asked the architect on the project <br />to supply the Commission with a letter designating which trees <br />are to be removed. <br />
