Prohibited - Original windows, doors, and hardware shall not <br />be discarded when they can be restored and reused in place. <br />New windows or door openings that would alter the scale and <br />proportion of the building may not be introduced. <br />Steps - Required - Existing or original porches and steps, <br />including handrails, balusters, columns, brackets, tiles, <br />and roof decorations shall be retained or replaced by <br />replicas of the same design and materials when deteriorated <br />beyond repair. <br />Prohibited - Front porches and steps that are important to <br />the building's style and development may not be altered or <br />removed. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The staff recommends the following: <br />Part I: The staff recommends that all dead trees be <br />removed; that the owner be permitted to trim the branches of <br />the trees as necessary; and that the owner be requested to <br />trim the tree on the wires, if possible. If that will not <br />alleviate the situation, then the owner should be permitted <br />to remove the tree. <br />Part.II: The staff recommends that the owner be permitted <br />to replace the soffit and boards with in-kind materials. <br />Part III: The staff recommends that the owner be permitted <br />to replace the attic window and steps with in-kind <br />materials. <br />
