page 3 <br />STAFF REPORT <br />808 Golden Ave. <br />South Bend, IN 46616 <br />PROPOSAL <br />The owner proposes the following: <br />Fart I: Remove two dead/dying trQQ=— on corner of Riverside <br />and Golden; Remove one tree resting on wires in rear of <br />Golden property; remove lower branches of tree in front of <br />808 Golden. <br />Part II: Replace soffit board and eaves trough in-kind on <br />1075 Riverside; replace cornice board around porch <br />floor/foundation in-kind on 1075 Riverside. <br />Part III: Replace rear attic window; replace porch steps <br />in-kind. <br />STANDARDS <br />Part I: <br />Required - Plants, trees, fencing, walkways, private yard <br />lights, signs and benches which reflect the property's <br />history and development shall be retained. <br />Recommended - Plant materials and trees in close proximity <br />to the building that are causing deterioration to the <br />building's historic fabric should be removed. Tree and <br />landscaping elements that must be removed shall be <br />immediately replaced by suitable flora. <br />Prohibited - No changes may be made to the appearance of the <br />site by removing old plants, trees, fencing, walkways, <br />outbuildings, and other elements before evaluating their <br />importance to the property's history and development. <br />Part 2: <br />Required - Original exterior building materials shall be <br />retained. <br />Recommended - Every effort should be made to retain the <br />original trim around windows, doors, cornices, gables, <br />eaves, and other architectural features. <br />Part III: <br />Window - Required - Original windows, including sash, <br />lintels, sills, shutters, decorative glass, pediments, <br />hoods, and hardware shall be retained or when ddeteriorated <br />beyond repair, replaced with units and trim resembling the <br />original. <br />
