STAFF Re D8RT
Howard Breedlove
14912 Brick Road
Granger, IN 46530
PROPOSAL
Owner proposes to construct a storage area adjacent to the
garage on the extention of the foundation slab already in
existence.
STANDARDS
C. Renovation and Additions
2. Construction and Style
All work should be done in the architectural style
and in a technique compatible with that of the
original structure. Change that alters, removes, or
covers existing significant stylistic detail shall
not be permitted. A change which adds detail or_
another style will not be permitted.
3. Materials
Additions and improvements involving any new
material in the landmark should be of the same
material as the original. It should be the same
size and texture. An alternative material may be
allowed if it duplicates the original.
RECOMMENDATION
The staff recommends that the owner be allowed to construct
an appropriate addition to the garage. The garage sits on a
concrete slab which extends 18-1/2 feet from the side of the
structure. Water runs across the slab and leaks into the
garage. The proposed addition would cover the slab and
prevent such leakage, as well as providing additional
storage space for the Breedlove family. The project meets
the above-mentioned standards by using a construction
technique, style, and materials compatible with the existing
garage.
