e 7 � W`' APPENDIX I SCOPE OF SERVICES HISTORIC PRESERVATION SURVEY'RECORDS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY CD90-1100 2 1/1/90 - 12/31/90, PURPOS,E AND INTENT: The City of South Bend's commitment to the preservation of its existing resources is evidenced by a variety of activities including housing rehabilitation, public works, park improvements, and social services. It is also important, however, that there is an increased understanding of certain historic preservation issues. Therefore, the City will make funds available to.the local Historic Preservation Commission to provide support services for the HPC staff and to update the survey records. TARGETED GOALS: The goal of this project is to enable The Historic Preservation Commission to expand its activities throughout the City. These activities include: 1) assistance in obtaining neighborhood historic district designations; 2) provide technical assistance on the implications of Multiple Resource District designation; 3) disseminate information on economic benefits of preservation;. 4) updating historic sites survey and providing a copy of the update to Economic Development for staff use; 5) conduct reviews of federally funded projects; 6) technical assistance to the Community Development planning staff and recipients of C.D. funds as requested. COST CATEGORIES: In accordance with the Statement of Purpose and Intent, the following eligible cost categories have been established: personnel costs associated with hiring an administrative—assistant- and dmin.istrative,..ass.stantand updating the historic sites survey. TIMETABLE: Costs may be incurred when the Agency is notified to proceed by the Division of Financial and Program Management. The activity shall commence on January 1, 1990 and shall continue to and include December 31, 1990. All funds unobligated by 12/31/90 and all funds • unspent by 1/31/91 will be subject to reprogramming at the option-.------.- ____ of the City.
