e 7 � <br />W`' APPENDIX I <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION SURVEY'RECORDS <br />MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY <br />CD90-1100 2 <br />1/1/90 - 12/31/90, <br />PURPOS,E AND INTENT: <br />The City of South Bend's commitment to the preservation of its <br />existing resources is evidenced by a variety of activities <br />including housing rehabilitation, public works, park improvements, <br />and social services. It is also important, however, that there is <br />an increased understanding of certain historic preservation <br />issues. Therefore, the City will make funds available to.the local <br />Historic Preservation Commission to provide support services for <br />the HPC staff and to update the survey records. <br />TARGETED GOALS: <br />The goal of this project is to enable The Historic Preservation <br />Commission to expand its activities throughout the City. These <br />activities include: <br />1) assistance in obtaining neighborhood historic district <br />designations; <br />2) provide technical assistance on the implications of <br />Multiple Resource District designation; <br />3) disseminate information on economic benefits of <br />preservation;. <br />4) updating historic sites survey and providing a copy of <br />the update to Economic Development for staff use; <br />5) conduct reviews of federally funded projects; <br />6) technical assistance to the Community Development planning <br />staff and recipients of C.D. funds as requested. <br />COST CATEGORIES: <br />In accordance with the Statement of Purpose and Intent, the <br />following eligible cost categories have been established: <br />personnel costs associated with hiring an administrative—assistant- <br />and <br />dmin.istrative,..ass.stantand updating the historic sites survey. <br />TIMETABLE: <br />Costs may be incurred when the Agency is notified to proceed by the <br />Division of Financial and Program Management. The activity shall <br />commence on January 1, 1990 and shall continue to and include <br />December 31, 1990. All funds unobligated by 12/31/90 and all funds <br />• unspent by 1/31/91 will be subject to reprogramming at the option-.------.- ____ <br />of the City. <br />
