• <br />r1 <br />L_J <br />had been deducting the amount of missed <br />time from his comp. time or making it up <br />elsewhere in the day. The policy was <br />developed for the benefit of the hourly <br />employees and does not lend itself to the <br />payroll situation for salaried employees. <br />Therefore, the salaried employees deduct <br />tardiness from earned comp. time. <br />Regarding the hourly staff, Suzanne <br />Booker had been late three times, but <br />none of them recently. Elaine Lawson had <br />not been late since the implementation of <br />the policy. <br />Mrs. Dixon stated that, as a portion of <br />the policy, she was to report excessive <br />tardiness or abuse of privileges to the <br />Commission for their consideration. She <br />stated that the only excessive tardiness <br />had been that of Leigh Booker. Ms. <br />Booker had been tardy eight times within <br />the two months that the policy had been <br />in operation. She also stated that she <br />had discussed the matter with Ms. Booker <br />and that Ms. Booker suggested she might <br />fare better with half days. <br />Mrs. Dixon asked the Commission for their <br />decision regarding Ms. Booker's excessive <br />tardiness. Mr.__Herendeen moved that Ms. <br />Leigh Booker be released from her <br />contract. Mrs. Dennen seconded. Motion <br />approved. <br />8. Staff Reports <br />a) HLFI Quarterly Regional Meeting <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that she attended the <br />meeting held in Nappanee and that the <br />information presented about Certified <br />Local Governments, while nothing new, was <br />a good refresher course. She also <br />mentioned that she made some new <br />contacts. <br />V. Old Business <br />A) Tagging of Deeds <br />Mrs. Dixon reported that she had checked on the <br />cost of tagging the deeds to reflect landmark or <br />district status and that the cost was $7.00. She <br />stated that she had probably not asked the right <br />question because that was far from the estimated <br />$.50 of a year or two ago. She and Mr. Oxian would <br />go speak to the person inn charge of the recorder's <br />
