commission's assistance for the committee.
Additionally, Mrs. Dixon reported that stretches of the curb
on the south side of the street are missing and agreed, at the
request of the property owners, to see what could be done to remedy
the situation.
5. Historic Landmarks
a) Central High School C. of A. Meeting (report)
Mrs. Dixon reported that this meeting basically reiterated the
alterations that have previously been proposed. Since these
alterations were no different from alterations that have pre-
viously been approved, they were approved by the commission.
The C. .of A. was then signed and sent to the Troyer group. The
C. of A., Mrs. Dixon stated, applies only to the specified
changes at the specified time. Any future projects regarding
this site will require reapproval by the commission.
b) 119 LaPorte Avenue --first reading
Mr. Oxian reported that this house has been completely restored
and refurbished, including fresh blue -grey paint and a fire alarm.
It is located almost directly opposite the Oliver Mansion and is
occupied. At one time, it sat right beside the Oliver house,
but was moved. A full history of the house was obtained from
the owners. Although this house was badly deteriorated five
years ago, Oxian reported, it is now in excellent condition.
It is historically interesting because it predates the Oliver
house.
Mention was also made of a yellow 2 -storey Italianate house
fZearby--location not specified --which Mr. Oxian reported is
the only one of its kind in the vicinity and is apparently
unaltered on the exterior. He feels it may be historically
significant and should be protected, but no action has as
yet been taken. Oxian reported that no demolition bids have
been taken on it.
c) 1533 Lincolnway West
Mrs. Dixon reported that surveyors had been sent out to resurvey
the house. The house is in excellent condition and appears
almost as it did when first built, apart from two aluminum front
storm windows. It is dated circa 1919, according to Mr. Oxian.
The original purpose was as a business and as a dormitory for
It single men. The exchange building was used by the telephone
company. Second reading pending next month.
6. Public Relations and Community Education
No report.
7. Personnel
40
Mrs. Dixon reported that as of the previous Thursday, surveyor
