Historic Districts
1) Riverside Standards
Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Riverside Drive Standards are
back from the printer and ready for distribution at the cost
of $1.00 per issue. It was decided at the October, 1955
meeting with the advice of Mr•s. Eugenia Schwartz that the
charge must reflect the cost of producing the publication and
no more.
c^) Street Lights on Riverside Dr•.
Ms. Kiemnec read a letter from Joseph Pluta, Director of
Engineering for the City of South Bend, dated February 19,
1956 regarding the streetlights on Riverside Drive (see
Appendix A). The Commission did not agrree with the letter
and felt that I & M, not the City, should be responsible for
the costs of replacing the fiberglass poles and lights. Mr.
Oxian made a motion to that effect and directed the staff to
write a letter to the Engineering Department, Mr. Nimtz
seconded, motion passed.
Historic Landmanks
No report
d. Legal
1) City Attorney Representative
Announcement that David Chapleau will be replacing Eugenia
Schwartz as the Commission's representative from the City
Attorney's office.
e. Environmental Impact Statement
1) 984 Riverside Drive
Mr. Robert Slabey has installed an air -conditioner in his home
at 984 Riverside Drive that does not conform to standards.
The staff recommendation was to allow the air -conditioner
because it can be removed, it does not seriously detract from
the appearnace of the home, and the owner has no other• option
at this time— -Mr. Nimtz made a motion to approve the
air -conditioner; Mr. Newburn seconded; motion passed.
g. _Staf-f
1) Administrative Assistant's Position.
