historicpreservation commission <br />of south bend and st. joseph county <br />ROOM 1123 COUNTY CITY BUILDING <br />south bend, indiana 46601 (219) 284-9798 <br />Contact Karen Kiemnec at the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. <br />Joseph County, 284-9798. <br />For immediate release <br />For a limited time, the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. <br />Joseph County has arranged for an independent preservation consultant to provide <br />technical preservation services for exterior work to owners of designated <br />historic buildings. The buildings must be designated landmarks or buildings <br />within the boundaries of designated local historic districts (designated by <br />ordinance) within the South Bend City Limits or the unincorporated areas of <br />St. Joseph County. The local districts include: West North Shore, Edgewater Place, <br />Lincolnway East, and Riverside Drive. <br />The kinds of technical information available will be: specifications for <br />preparing and painting historic houses, advice on cleaning or repairing masonry, <br />and suggestions for weatherproofing historic structures. The advice will be <br />given by a qualified consultant trained by the National Trust for Historic <br />Preservation.
