� 0 <br />Ms. Kiemnec approved the owner's request to replace a raw <br />aluminum screen door with a bronze storm door. <br />2) 1055 Riverside Drive <br />Ms. Kiemnec approved the owner's request to install storm <br />windows over leaded glass sidelights of front entrance. <br />3) 736 East Bronson <br />Ms. Kiemnec read a letter from Mr. Brindle (Appendix A) <br />regarding his inability to make the necessary repairs and or <br />replacements of windows at this time. Mr. Chapleau, Deputy <br />City Attorney, suggested the Commission table the matter until <br />April, 1987. Mr. Oxian made a motion to require that <br />contracts for the work be awarded by Apr i 1 15, 1987 and work to <br />be completed by May 31, 1987. Mr. Hayes seconded; motion <br />carried. <br />4) 65014 U.B. 31 South - Country Bake Shop <br />Mr. Butler, Commission Attorney, advised that he and Ms. <br />Kiemnec begin to work with the County Commissioners and the <br />County Attorney to proceed with legal action against the <br />owners. <br />• b. Budget & Finance <br />1 ) Department of Interior Grants. <br />Ms. Kiemnec announced the grant proposal of $16,900 for a <br />combined grant for Mr. Poland's and Mrs. Fountain's positions. <br />Also included were funds for the Mayor's Conference, and a <br />South Bend Heritage Foundation HABS Study of the Natatorium. <br />A second grant was applied for in the amount of $22,200.00 for <br />the continuing Survey Update Project which Mary Suter is <br />currently working on. Ms. Kiemnec introduced Mr. Nagy, who <br />will also be working on the Survey Update Project beginning <br />January 5, 1987. <br />Mr. Oxian requested a project description of each grant <br />proposal be sent to him for review. Mr. Oxian made the motion <br />to accept the staff report that these grants have been <br />submitted. Mrs. Petrass seconded; motion passed. <br />C. Historic Districts <br />1) Historic District Signs <br />• Ms. Kiemnec reported that funds have been appropriated from <br />the 1986 budget, to purchase Historic District signs. Brendan <br />Cruml i s.h has been commissioned to do the drawings for the <br />signs using a simple version of a Queen Anne style house along <br />December 15, 1986 PAGE 3 <br />
