11 <br />2) Survey Update <br />Ms. Straw presented a proposal for the next areas to be <br />updated for the survey. They include Harter Heights, the <br />Northeast neighborhood, and the Near East. The Commission <br />agreed with her proposal. <br />3) Computer Workshop <br />Ms. Kiemnec asked permission for Ms. Straw to attend a <br />November 9 & 10 Apple Computer workshop in Chicago. Costs <br />will be minimal, only gas and food, not to exceed $30. The <br />Commission agreed. <br />7. Old Business <br />Mr. Oxian requested that the staff inspect 736 Bronson in the <br />Edgewater Historic District for work without a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness. <br />8. New Business <br />Mrs. Choitz expressed her concern for continued absenteeism of some <br />Commission members. Mrs. Sporleder indicated that she would contact <br />those members who had missed frequently. <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she had gotten a report that work had been <br />done without a Certificate of Appropriateness at 1232 L.W.E. She <br />reported the matter to the Building Department who informed her that <br />deteriorated portions of the steps were replaced to match the <br />original. She indicated that a Certificate of Appropriateness was not <br />needed for such work. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />No report. <br />10. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that a new book has been received entitled, <br />Facade Stories, Changing Faces of Main Street Storefronts and How to <br />Care for Them. Mr. Nimtz made a motion to adjourn; the meeting was <br />adjourned at 9:35. <br />6 <br />
