Ms. Straw reported the same at 545 River Avenue. <br />The Commissioners requested that further action be taken on <br />705 Lincolnway East where a balcony balustrade has been <br />removed. They suggested the staff report the incident to the <br />Code Enforcement Department because of the safety hazard. <br />g. Staff Report <br />1) Small Town Survey <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that work on the Small Town Survey <br />publication is continuing. She is seeking additional funding <br />for the research assistant and secretarial help for the <br />project. <br />2) Multiple Resource Area <br />Ms. Straw reported that as of June 5, 1985, the downtown South <br />Bend'Multiple Resource Area was listed on the National <br />Register of Historic Places. <br />• 3) Council Oak, LaSalle's Landing, and Pinhook Lagoon <br />The staff reported that a request had been received from Mr. <br />Joe Peyser for landmark status for the Council Oak and <br />LaSalle's Landing. Ms. Straw sent him a letter indicating the <br />Commission's support for such a proposal and asked for more <br />historical information on the two sites. In addition, the <br />Commission received a copy of a letter to Mr. David Roos, the <br />Mayor's administrative assistant, regarding proposed water <br />skiing at Pinhook Lagoon and Mr. Peyset's reasons for <br />objections to the proposal. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Michiana Arts & Sciences Council Grant <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Commission did not receive the grant <br />requested from the Michiana Arts and Sciences Council for computer <br />equipment but was encouraged to reapply in September. <br />8.
