5 <br />2) Industrial Buildings Project <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that Mr. Wallar has completed research <br />on all but the Studebaker complex, is writing up drafts of <br />the criteria sheets on all the factories, and is working on <br />the overall history and methodology. Mr. Wallar's time and <br />funding will run out on June 8, 1984. Since the project will <br />not be completed at that time and because she and Mrs. <br />Sporleder feel that a slide/tape presentation to promote the <br />project to the community would be appropriate, Ms. Kiemnec <br />asked permission to apply for additional funding for a 10 to <br />12 week period over the summer. She has gotten a verbal <br />commitment from two funding sources and will approach <br />another. Mr. Newburn made a motion that Ms. Kiemnec continue <br />to pursue the additional grant funding; Mr. Nimtz seconded; <br />motion passed. <br />3) Preservation Plan <br />Ms. Straw reported that the Landmarks Procedure Chapter is <br />ready to receive a final review by the Landmarks Committee <br />and the Districts Procedure Chapter is almost ready for final <br />review. She is also working on the Endangered and Scarce <br />Buildings Chapter. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Mayor's Conference <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the conference was quite successful; 70 <br />people participated and the conference was kicked off by the <br />mayor who delivered a resolution declaring Preservation Week <br />locally. <br />b. 1985 Grant for Administrative Assistant <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that on April 18 the Commission was awarded <br />a grant from the State Historic Preservation Office for $9,500 to <br />continue funding in 1985 for the Administrative Assistant <br />Position. <br />8. New Business <br />a. Grant application <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she had been approachditf by Ms. Leslie <br />Choitz of Southhold Restorations to be a part of a grant <br />application to the Apple Computer Company. The company is taking <br />applications from groups of 3 to 5 non-profit organizations which <br />
