Committee of the Whole Report <br />a. 1983 Goals <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the 1983 goals as listed on Appendix B be <br />adopted by the Commission; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion passed. . <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Downtown Buildings Conference <br />Mr. Hayes made a motion -that the Commission support the May 9th conference and <br />make $200 available out of its.budget to pay for speakers; Mrs. Sporleder secon- <br />ded; motion passed. Ms. Kiemnec asked for names and addresses of any commercial <br />building owners that Commissioners feel should attend the conference. Mr. <br />Oxian suggested the owners of businesses along East Jefferson (west of Eddy) <br />and the 400 and 500 blocks of South Michigan. Mrs. Sporleder suggested sending <br />brochures on the conference to Mishawaka building owners and city officials. <br />b. 120 S. Michigan <br />Mr: Oxian reported that he had received a response on his request for the <br />building (see Appendix C). He suggested that if the building at 120 S. Michigan <br />cannot be renovated as a joint project, then perhaps one of the commercial <br />buildings in the 500 block of South Michigan can be used. <br />8. New Business <br />a. Fredrickson House <br />Ms. Kiemnec passed out copies of the Mayor's Press Release dated February 17th <br />(see Appendix D). Mrs. Sporleder made a motion that the HPC write a letter <br />to the Trustees of the Estate with copies to the Mayor, Mr. Seitz of the Park <br />Department, and Southhold Restorations, Inc. stating the Commission's support <br />and willingness to participate in whatever way possible in making the Fred- <br />rickson House a public museum; Mr. Hayes seconded; motion carried. <br />b. March Meeting <br />Ms. Kiemnec asked permission to be excused from the March Meeting. The Com- <br />mission agreed by consensus. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />No report. <br />10. Announcements and Miscellaneous Matters <br />No report. <br />11. Adjournment <br />Mrs. Sporleder made a.motion to adjourn; Mrs. DeLaruelle'seconded; the meeting <br />was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. <br />
