Page <br />December 19, 1983 <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Multiple Resource Area nomination should <br />be completed by the end of the year. <br />2) Industrial Buildings Study <br />Mr. Oxian asked that the Lumber Company at 1406 Franklin Street be <br />considered in.the.Industrial Buildings study because of its historical <br />significance. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Administrative Assistant <br />Ms. Kiemnec announced that she had gotten approval on the grants for an <br />administrative assistant from both the State Historic Preservation Office <br />and the Community Development office. The position is being advertised by <br />the County Personnel Office and she has begun the process to get County <br />Council approval. <br />b. Mr. Oxian reported that a house on Edgewater close to Arch is sorely in need <br />of paint and should be checked out by the Planner. Mrs. Sporleder suggested <br />that the Commission try to develop some kind of a paint -up program for <br />houses in Historic Districts. <br />8. New Business <br />a. Mr. Wasielewski announced the formation of a new committee, the Facade <br />Easement Committee. He appointed Mr. Oxian as chairperson and Mrs. DeLaruelle <br />and Mrs. Petrass a's members. <br />b. Nominating Committee <br />Mr. Wasielewski appointed Mr. Newburn as chairperson and Mrs. Choitz and <br />himself as members. <br />c. Mayor's Conference <br />Ms. Kiemnec asked if the Commission wished to participate in the Mayor's <br />Conference again in 1984. Mr. Nimtz made a motion to participate in the <br />conference and to ask the other organizations who were involved in last <br />year's conference if they would participate again this year. Mr. Newburn <br />seconded; motion passed. <br />d. Prints from Indiana Club <br />Ms. Kiemnec exhibited two large prints that had been donated to .the <br />Commission, one an aerial view of the Studebaker Clubhouse and trees and <br />another done in 1923, of Studebaker's factories. Mrs. Sporleder suggested <br />that the Historic Preservation Commission check into duplicating the prints <br />and selling them. Mr. Newburn volunteered to restore and frame the posters <br />and keep them in a safe place for the Commission. Mr. Oxian made a motion to <br />have Mr. Newburn restore and frame them and keep them for the --Commission; <br />Mrs. Petrass seconded; motion carried. <br />
