Page December 19, 1983 Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Multiple Resource Area nomination should be completed by the end of the year. 2) Industrial Buildings Study Mr. Oxian asked that the Lumber Company at 1406 Franklin Street be considered in.the.Industrial Buildings study because of its historical significance. 7. Old Business a. Administrative Assistant Ms. Kiemnec announced that she had gotten approval on the grants for an administrative assistant from both the State Historic Preservation Office and the Community Development office. The position is being advertised by the County Personnel Office and she has begun the process to get County Council approval. b. Mr. Oxian reported that a house on Edgewater close to Arch is sorely in need of paint and should be checked out by the Planner. Mrs. Sporleder suggested that the Commission try to develop some kind of a paint -up program for houses in Historic Districts. 8. New Business a. Mr. Wasielewski announced the formation of a new committee, the Facade Easement Committee. He appointed Mr. Oxian as chairperson and Mrs. DeLaruelle and Mrs. Petrass a's members. b. Nominating Committee Mr. Wasielewski appointed Mr. Newburn as chairperson and Mrs. Choitz and himself as members. c. Mayor's Conference Ms. Kiemnec asked if the Commission wished to participate in the Mayor's Conference again in 1984. Mr. Nimtz made a motion to participate in the conference and to ask the other organizations who were involved in last year's conference if they would participate again this year. Mr. Newburn seconded; motion passed. d. Prints from Indiana Club Ms. Kiemnec exhibited two large prints that had been donated to .the Commission, one an aerial view of the Studebaker Clubhouse and trees and another done in 1923, of Studebaker's factories. Mrs. Sporleder suggested that the Historic Preservation Commission check into duplicating the prints and selling them. Mr. Newburn volunteered to restore and frame the posters and keep them in a safe place for the Commission. Mr. Oxian made a motion to have Mr. Newburn restore and frame them and keep them for the --Commission; Mrs. Petrass seconded; motion carried.
