Page 2 <br />August 15, 1983 <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she would attend the Community Development Public <br />Hearing on 1984 Funding. <br />b. Historic Districts <br />1 ) Seebi rt Court <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she had been called by property owners on Seebirt <br />Court. The city will remove the east sidewalk and the grassy island and <br />blacktop the entire court after replacing sewers. Mr. Newburn made a _motion <br />that the HPC write to the Board of Public Works to inquire what exactly the <br />project entails and if the lamppost and island can be retained. The letter <br />would also offer the Commission's review: of and _advi.ce'on. -find <br />a solution which would keep the Court's historic and aesthetic qualities <br />intact. Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded; motion passed. <br />c. Historic Landmarks <br />1) 52228 Gumwood <br />The Commission again informed Mr. Whitaker that the porch on his landmark <br />house is inappropriate because the scale and style do not correspond to his <br />federal style house. Since Mr. Whitaker did not agree to tear the porch, - <br />down, the Commission reaffirmed its earlier position. Mrs. Sporleder made <br />a motion to rescind the landmark status if the two -story porch remains on the <br />house; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion passed. The Commission discussed whether <br />or not the barn would still remain a landmark and agreed that the motion <br />included only the house and not the barn. <br />d. Legal <br />1) County Ordinance <br />Ms. Kiemnec distributed a draft of the County Ordinance (see Appendix A) and <br />indicated the additions (underlined) and the deletions (crossed out). Mr. <br />Newburn made a motion to accept the ordinance draft; Mr. Oxian seconded; <br />motion passed. <br />e. Public Relations & Community Education <br />1) County Maps <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the revisions of the county maps have gone to the <br />printer. The Commission will receive 1000 copies. <br />f. Environmental Impact Statement <br />1) Baugo Creek Site <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that nothing was surveyed in the area of the proposed <br />park_ site. Mr. Oxian suggested that he remembered a farmhouse in the area <br />and proposed that the planner review the site. <br />g. Staff Report <br />1) Small Town Survey <br />Ms. Kiemnec distributed the history of Lakeville to the Small Town Survey <br />Committee. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. Reappointment of Architectural Historian <br />Mrs.Sporleder tendered her resignation. 'Mrs. " - Choitz made a motion to reject <br />Mrs. Sporleder's resignation and reappoint her for a term of three years; Mr. <br />Newburn seconded; motion passed. <br />8. New Business <br />a.
