May 24, 1982 <br />Page 4 <br />h. President's Report <br />1) Certificates of Appropriateness <br />Mr. Wasielewski suggested that procedures for the Certificate of Appropriate- <br />ness process need to be adopted and that perhaps a committee should be set <br />up to suggest some alternatives. Mr. Oxian made a motion.to set up a com- <br />mittee to come up with suggestions for Certificate of Appropriateness <br />procedures; Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded; motion passed. <br />Mr. Wasielewski replaced Mrs. Ruth Price who has resigned from the Commission <br />with Mrs. Sporleder.:-as Chairperson of the Environmental Impact Committee <br />and added Mr. Oxian to the Committee. <br />7. Old Business - no report <br />8. New Business <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission send an ordinance to the Common Council <br />to stop the issuance of Demolition Permits by the City Building Department for two <br />years on buildings.rated 11 to 13 on the City Survey in Downtown South Bend within <br />the following boundaries: LaSalle on the north, William on the west, St. Joseph on <br />the east, and Western on the south. Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded; motion defeated. <br />Mr. Hayes, Mr. Nimtz, and Mrs. Sporleder voted nay; Mrs. DeLaruelle. and Mr. Oxian <br />voted in favor; Mrs. Sherk abstained. The Commission agreed to hold a caucus on <br />June 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the 11th floor Conference Room. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors - no report <br />.10. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters <br />11. Adjournment <br />Mrs. Sporleder moved to adjourn; motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br />
