Committee Reports <br />a: Budget & Finance <br />Ms. Kiemnec'reported that last year's budget figure is being used by.the County <br />Commissioners for next year's budget. The Commissioners suggested that the <br />budget which has been "prepared for 1983 be sent to the County Commissioners. <br />b. Historic Districts <br />The proposed local districts in West Washington, LaSalle St., East Jefferson, <br />and the Near East were discussed. Mrs. Kathryn Brookins apprised.the HPC <br />that she will be bringing in a petition on the proposed LaSalle Street District <br />at the August Meeting. <br />c. Historic Landmarks <br />1) Second Reading for Landmark Designation of 52060 Quince Road <br />Mrs: Sporleder suggested that it be looked into whether or not the <br />house can feasibly be moved. Mrs. Sporleder made a motion that 52060 <br />Quince Road be declared a landmark by ordinance and sent to the County <br />Council; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion passed. <br />2)Second Reading for Landmark Designation of 1327.1 Adams Road <br />Mr. Beamor, the owner, apprised the Commission that he is in favor of <br />landmark designation and that the architectural quality of the home merits it. <br />Mrs. Sporleder made a motion that 13271 Adams Road be declared a landmark <br />by ordinance and sent to the County Council; Mrs. Choitz seconded; motion <br />passed. <br />3) Hearing for Landmark.Designation by Resolution of 29149 Lath Trail, Former <br />Schoolhouse <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the owner is aware of the proposed landmark desig- <br />nation and that the building is one of the earlier schoolhouses extant in <br />the county. Mrs. Sporleder made a motion that 29149 Lath Trail, a former <br />schoolhouse, be declared a landmark by resolution and sent to, -.the County <br />Council; Mrs. DeLaruelle seconded, motion passed. <br />4) Bowman -Cemetery <br />Mrs. Sporleder mentioned that the fence at the cemetery is to be torn down <br />and replaced with a vinyl fence. Mr. Hayes made a motion to hold first <br />reading for landmark status of the fence and to write to the Park Depart- <br />ment asking them not to tear it down; Mrs. Sporleder seconded; motion <br />carried. <br />d. Legal <br />1) Ordinance Amendment <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Area Plan Commission has continued the <br />Ordinance Amendment until their August meeting. <br />e. Public Relations & Community Education - no report <br />f. Environmental Impact Statement <br />1) Certificate of Appropriateness for 524 River Avenue <br />Mr. Vaerewyck explained that he would like to replace his present garage <br />with a new building which will be L-shaped in plan, sheathed in clapboard, <br />have a gable roof, and_,a plastic corrugated door.
