South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - May 3, 1996
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
d. continued...
changes in fees cannot be made without
approval of a public body, in this case the
Commission. We'd like to allow as much
flexibildy as we can for the staff to respond
to market conditions. This marketing plan
outlines a variety of promotional options
which the staff would like the option to
offer. Mr. Godfrey explained the following
promotions: 1) Universal Golf
Ticket/Executive Golf Services; 2) Indiana
PGA Golf Card/Golf Digest Resort and
Travel Club /Leading Golf Courses of
America; 3) Unseasonable Weather
Specials; 4) Golf Course Maintenance
Specials; 5) Notre Dame Golf Team; 6)
Game Day Golf; 7) Hotel/Bed & Breakfast
Special Packages; 8) Golf Show Specials; 9)
Trading Out Services for Golf, 10)
Complimentary Rounds for PGA, LPGA,
GCSAA and CMA Members. The full
explanation entitled Blackthorn Golf Course
Special Promotions and Marketing
Promotions is attached to these minutes.
Mrs. Kolata noted that the special rate
rounds would be scheduled during non -peak
hours.
Mr. Hojnacki asked if there wasn't a danger
that the pricing scheme is too complicated
for people to understand. Mr. Godfrey
responded that the employees at the register
know and understand the fees. A golfer
only knows about the one offer he has, not
about all the different options.
-7-
