February 15, 1982 <br />Page 3 <br />D. Legal (cont.) <br />2) New Lawyer <br />Mr. Wasielewski announced that Mr. Kevin Butler will be the <br />Commission's attorney and he asked that any legal matters which <br />need Mr. Butler's attention be coordinated through the staff <br />person, Ms. Kiemnec. She will act as the liaison with Mr. Butler <br />in order to use his services most efficiently. <br />e. Public Relations and Community Education <br />Mr. Hayes reported that no firm decisions have been made on the <br />Architectural Guidebook. <br />Mr. Oxian asked if the Historic Preservation Commission would be <br />holding festivities for Preservation Week. The matter was re- <br />ferred to Mr. Hayes' committee for a report next month. One <br />suggestion was to have a seminar with local developers and/or <br />realtors on our local districts and landmarks and the benefits <br />and implications of them. <br />f. Environmental Impact Statement - no report <br />g. Staff Report <br />1) Report on progress of South Bend City Survey <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the Summary Report is back from the <br />printer and needs only to be collated and punched. She suggested <br />that if a press release and/or celebration is going to be planned, <br />preparation needs to begin. She added that the second printing <br />of the Inventory Catalogue is completely collated and bound, <br />thanks to the generous help of Mrs. Price. <br />2) Report on progress Small Town Survey <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that the St. Mary's intern is currently <br />doing research on that campus and that the Small Town Survey <br />in general, is going well. <br />h. -President's:Report <br />Mr..Wasielewski reported that he would like to continue the <br />committee concept of getting things accomplished. He will wait <br />until the -March meeting to.make appointments and if a Commissioner <br />decides to.serve on a particular committee, they should contact him. <br />7. Old Business <br />a. By-laws - referred to committee <br />.8. New Business - no report <br />9. Hearing of Visitors - no report <br />10. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters <br />Mr. Wasielewski welcomed the new Commissioner, Gina DeLaruelle. <br />11. Adjournment <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion for adjournment; Mr. Hayes seconded; all present <br />voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br />
