Place Historic District <br />a) 601, 605 & 617 Lincolnway East <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that Southold_ Heritage had not had any offers <br />to date for 605 or 617 Lincolnway East and the properties will <br />revert back to Panzica & Freidline on March 1, 1982. She also <br />reported that 601 is for sale by the owners. <br />b) Edgewater Place Historic District Liaison Committee Rules <br />Mr. Wasielewski read the Proposed Rules with changes made by the <br />Committee of the Whole (see Appendix A). Mr. Oxian made a motion <br />that the rules be approved pending assent by a fifth member of the <br />Commission. Mr. Hayes seconded; all members present voted in favor <br />of the motion. <br />c. Historic Landmarks <br />1) Abandoned Building Policy - held off till next meeting <br />2) School Buildings - held off till next meeting <br />3) State Theatre - Mr. Hayes asked the status of landmark desig- <br />nation for the State Theatre which was up for first reading in <br />December. Mr. Oxian suggested that the matter be tabled until <br />September or October as he its currently working with the owners <br />to find a developer. <br />d. Legal <br />1) Ordinance Amendment <br />Mr. Butler reported on the problems with the,:r- <br />Ordinance Amendments: we need to incorporate` language to be <br />able to accept preservation or facade easements; the penalty <br />provision in our amendment is acceptable if it is made clear <br />that it refers only to Section 6.5 of the amendment; and the <br />Commission cannot bring court injunctions on its own but must <br />go through the city or county council. In cases where the city <br />or county owns the building and injunctive relief is sought, <br />action will have to be taken on a case by case basis keeping <br />in mind the Commission's limited funds. <br />
