South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - April 19, 1996
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
d. continued...
Mike Wojtisiak, CPA, Kruggel Lawton & Co.,
explained that Curtis Products' biggest
customer is the John Deere Co. The new
equipment will allow them to make larger
pipes. The six new jobs to be created is a
conservative estimate. Curtis Products has
been doing a lot of expanding in the last few
years, all without public assistance.
Ms. Auburn declared a conflict of interest on
this item.
Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded by
co, Mr. Donoho and unanimously carried, the
Commission approved Resolution No. 1424
approving an application for personal property
tax deduction for property located at 228 E.
Bronson. (Curtis Products) Ms. Auburn did not
vote.
e. Commission ratification requested for AEP
easements. (Champion Soft Water)
Mrs. Kolata noted that there is an electric
power line that goes down the vacated alley
crossing the site we recently sold to Champion
Soft Water. It needs to be moved, creating
two easements, one on either side of the
property. The Commission has not closed the
sale with Champion Soft Water, so as property
owner the staff signed the easements so that
the lines could be relocated. Mr. Pryor, owner
of Champion Soft Water, approved of the new
la
COMMISSION APPROVED RESOLUTION NO.
1424 APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR
PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 228 E.
