June 16, 1980 <br />Page 3 <br />6. Budget and Finance <br />According to Mr. Stamper, no word has been received from the county or <br />the city on the budget proposals. <br />7. Historic District and Standards <br />Mr. Reinke expressed an interest in a sign for each district. This <br />question was tabled for further discussion. <br />Ruth Price made a motion to set up a committee of interested parties <br />to meet with Community Development, and Redevelopment on plans for the <br />St. Joseph Street area. Mr. Oxian stated that we should reaffirm our <br />desire and earlier agreements that St. Joseph Street and Carrol Streets <br />should be an historic district. The motion was admended by John Appleton <br />to limit the disscussion of the meeting to the St. Joseph Street area, <br />and not discuss other districts. Old Business <br />Mr. Oxian stated that Smuthhold Restorations, Inc. approved our request <br />for a grant for the survey of the small towns in St. Joseph County. <br />Mr. Stamper stated also that the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana <br />has agreed to help match the anticipated Department of Natural Resources <br />grant. <br />9.
