June 16, 1980 <br />Page 2 <br />• <br />4. Correspondence <br />John Stamper presented various correspondence: County Ceta is now <br />soliciting for Public Service Projects. The deadline is July 1,1980. <br />We will attempt to make use of this in the near future. <br />The National Trust for Historic Preservation has .sent a sample brochure, <br />dealing with preservation legislation. <br />Also received was a Flyer from the Historic Landmarks Foundation of <br />Indiana. regarding a "Town Tour in Rensalear". on June 26th. <br />Neighborhood Conservation and Reinvestment. Has asked us to join for <br />$75.00 a year. With Mr. Stampers' recommendation the Commission decided <br />against joining. It was stated that if we wanted to we could get <br />copies from Jim Connelly. <br />The Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana has invited Mr. Stamper to <br />attend a meeting next Friday, June 27th with a focus on a Preservation <br />Workshop for the State Survey. Ms. Price and Mr. Stamper will attend. <br />5. Committee Reports <br />Mr. Stamper read a letter form Dick Gantz, State Historic Preservation <br />Officer, which stated that the survey is due September 30, 1980, and that <br />e must use all the funds allocated in order to advoid recapture. <br />Mr. Gantz asked that any other expenses be turned in by July 1, 1980. <br />The mockup of the city survey was presented by Mr. Stamper. The final is <br />expected to be in two volumes; the first will include a brief history <br />of the city of South Bend along with recommendations and an explanation <br />of the format, and the second volume will consist of the city survey <br />inventory along with maps and a legend. <br />Ruth Price moved that the Publications Committee meet to study the survey <br />book format. Member will consist of: <br />Ruth Price <br />Joann Sporleder <br />Charles Hayes <br />John Stamper <br />The meeting of the committe will be June 24, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. on the <br />11th Floor of the County -City Building. <br />Mr. Stamper also stressed a need for a secretary to type up the book. <br />Ruth stated that she would try to find volunteer help. <br />• <br />
