July 21, 1980 <br />Page 3 <br />Public Relations and Community Education <br />No report <br />Environmental Impact Statement <br />Mr. Stamper read into the minutes a letter from Mc Donahue <br />Engineering, Inc. proposal for widening of Pierce Road, east of <br />Wyatt to the Elkhart County line. No designated landmarks will <br />be affected along with the Madison Union Chapel. A house at <br />65988 Bremen Highway may lose a portion of the barn in a road <br />widening. <br />Mr. Oxiamn moved that it be reviewed by the Landmarks Committee, <br />seconded by Mr. Nimtz. The motion carried. <br />Presidential Report <br />No report <br />10. Old Business <br />Mr. Stamper presented an updated report on the Monroe -Sample area. <br />Alternative proposals were discussed for the area. Mr. Stamper also <br />stated that CETA application for a person to work on the Small Town <br />Survey has been submitted. <br />11. New Business <br />Mrs. Price moved, and Mr. Newburn seconded that Mrs. Spot' leder. be <br />reappointed for a second term. <br />Mrs. Price questioned the Commission's ability to review applications <br />that are submitted for the National Register. This would be reviewed <br />by the Historic Districts Committee meeting. <br />Mrs. Price questioned funding for attending the National Trust convention. <br />Mr. Wasielewski stated this will be referred to the next meeting. <br />Mrs. Price presented an update of the Recision Bill. <br />12. Announcements and Miscellaneous Matters <br />No reort <br />13. Hearing of Visitors <br />No report <br />14. Adjournment <br />Mr. Newburn moved for adjuournment, seconded by Mrs. Price. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm. <br />
