• <br />January 19, 1981 <br />Page 3 <br />Legal <br />No Report <br />Public Relations and Community Education <br />For the forthcoming Preservation Week Celebration in May, <br />Mrs. Price suggested that <br />a dinner with guest speakers could be organized to commemorate the <br />10 years of historic preservation in this community. Mrs. Price <br />will pursue this in more detail. <br />Mr. Stamper presented an article by the Northern Indiana His- <br />torical Society regarding a guide to Indiana's Historical Sites <br />that will be published by the Society. They are requesting in- <br />formation on historical structures in this area. It was suggested <br />that Mr. Stamper vi?-Tte and offer access to our files to them if <br />they wish to visit our office. <br />Environmental Impact Statement <br />Mr. Stamper stated that he briefly reviewed the county survey <br />• in regard to the recently proposed Toll Road Interchange at <br />Evergreen Road. He found that two structures in the area were <br />rated contributing in the County Survey. <br />Presidential Report <br />Mr. Wasielewski thanked the new Commission Members for their <br />contributions to the Commission. He noted that the designation of <br />historic districts greatly benefits the city and that it is <br />important that the Commission designate more districts in the <br />future. Mr. Wasielewski commended Mr. Stamper on his fine <br />performance over the years as the Preservation Planner for the <br />Commission. <br />Staff Report <br />Mr. Stamper presented the annual report which was sent to the County <br />Commissioners detailing the Commission's past accomplishments for <br />the year. Mr. Stamper also presented a list of books for the <br />Commission to consider ranging in topics from dealing with vacant <br />school space to vacant industrial buildings. Mr. Stamper also gave <br />the Commission Members copies of book reviews published in the <br />JSAH on Historic Survey books. <br />7. Old Business <br />A draft of Resolution 9 was given to the Commission Members for comment <br />and further discussion. It will be included on the February agenda. <br />
