Edgewater Place Historic District <br />a) Demolition Requests for 601, 605 and 617 Lincolnway East <br />Ms„ Kiemnec reiterated a conversation with Mr. Friedline, <br />one of the owners of the buildings. He stated that he and <br />Mr. Panzica might be willing to work with the Commission <br />and the two non -profits on moving 601 and might possibly <br />withdraw the application for demolition for that building. <br />He did not feel, however, that 605 & 617 should be saved. <br />He suggested that after the land was cleared, he and his <br />partner would be willing to work with the Commission on <br />design review. Mrs. Price stated that an application for <br />demolition had been made on all four buildings and that the <br />city has awarded a contract on 609. Ms. Kiemnec then read <br />letters about the matter from Southhold Restorations, <br />Southold Heritage and the Edgewater Place Historic District <br />Liaison Committee (Appendices A,'B & C). Mrs. Price <br />stated that all the groups represented, toured the three houses <br />and were not impressed with the integrity of any of the <br />interiors except that of 601. She read from the Ordinance <br />the three reasons why the Council would not grant our stay. <br />She further stated Southold Heritage's doubts that buyers for <br />the three buildings could be found (with the possible <br />exception of 601) because of the large number of houses <br />currently being marketed for removal, the current economic <br />situation and the high cost of moving.
