August 18, 1980 <br />Page 2 <br />6. -Committee-Reports <br />City Survey <br />Mr. Stamper stated that his staff is trying to meet the September <br />30th deadline; however we may be sending only the A,nventory lists <br />and survey cards at that time, and sending the negatives a month <br />later. <br />A suggestion was made by Ruth Price regarding taking the information <br />on the 14 potential districts and sending it to the H.C.R.S for <br />review. This is to enable the Commission to make proper decisions <br />on Historic District recommendations. The matter was set aside for <br />further discussion. <br />Budget and Finance <br />Ted Wasielewski stated that there has been no response from the city <br />as.of yet on our budget requests. <br />Historic Districts and Standards <br />Several changes were made and noted in the Historic Districts and <br />is <br />Standards Guideline book. <br />Historic Land marks and Standards <br />Landmark designation for 5450 South Miami Road was brought <br />forth in a motion made by John Oxian and seconded by Charles Hayes. <br />The commission approved the motion. <br />Mr. Oxian also made a motion to give landmark status to.'815 Arch <br />v Avenue. Joann Sporleder seconded the motion. The commission approved <br />the motion, with Charles Hayes abstaining. <br />Public Relations and Community Education <br />The house plaques issue was given to the Public Relations and <br />Community Education committee for further research. <br />Ruth Price suggested to the P.R.C.E. committee that consideration <br />should be given to the idea of bringing a guest speaker in, such as <br />Tom Huston, speaking on the Tax Act and How to Use It., and inviting <br />interested parties. <br />Environmental Impact Statement <br />Mr. Oxian read the Environmental Impact Statement which was written <br />for McDonough Engineering regarding the Pierce Road Project (see <br />• report) . <br />Mr. Stamper read a request from the City Controllers Office for the <br />commission to prepare an E.I.S. for the proposed Ethanol Plant <br />on CAlvert Street.
