A letter from John Oxian to Jim Seitz, Park Superintendent, concerning the wanton destruction of tombstones, in the city cemetery. A letter from John Oxian to John DeLee, Building Commissioner, concerning the granting of demolition permits without the Commission being aware of it. A letter from John DeLee to the Commission in response to John Oxian's previous letter. A letter to Paul Klein, Prp-sident of the County Council, from John Oxian concerning the passage of landmark status for schoolhouses, by resolution, in the County. _ A letter from the Trust on the Conference and a special meeting for Landmark and Historic District Commissions in large cities on Thursday, October 12th, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 878 6. Committee Reports City Survey The Survey Committee received the 3 -part contract from the State Historic Preservation Office for the $12,000. Mrs. Price made a motion that the City Survey Committee be charged with the duty of completing and returning the forms. Mr. Oxian seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Budget and Finance Letter to Tom Catanzarite, Chairman of the County Council Budget Administration Committee, requesting a hearing to discuss the $600.00 discrepancy in our budget proposal,decided upon with the County Commissioners. Historic Districts Mr. Oxian made a motion that we send to the City Council the re- commendation that the West North Shore Drive be zoned as an historic district. Mr. Kline seconded. All voted in favor. Mr. Oxian then made a motion that the Commission accept the stand- ards for the West North Shore Drive Historic District as written, to be adopted upon the passage of an ordinance by the City Council officially designating the West North Shore Drive area as an hist- oric district. Mr. Kline seconded. All voted in favor. Mr. Was- ielewski voted for Joann Sporleder by proxy. Historic Landmarks Mr. Oxian made a motion to declare 701 North Cottage Grove a single site City Landmark. Mr. Kline seconded. All voted in favor.
