July 17, 1978 <br />Page 2 <br />work to be done on the Twykenham Bridge. <br />Ms. Peck wrote a letter to Eleanor Miller at County CETA, stating. <br />that Mary Trevino was, as of June 26, 1978, no longer employed <br />with the Commission but that we requested the position to continue. <br />A thank -you note was sent to Bill Moe at Cole Associates for do- <br />nating Reflections Upon a Century of Architecture: Evansville, IN. <br />778 6., Committee Reports <br />City Survey <br />A letter requesting the Memorandum of Understanding from SHPO <br />was sent. No response to date. <br />After consultation between Brian Crumlish (Crumlish/Sporleder & <br />Associates) and the SHPO, a completion date of August 29, 1979, <br />was decided upon for the survey work. <br />Budget and Finance <br />No report. <br />Historic Districts <br />Ms. Charlotte Whittaker announced that the majority, or 17 out of <br />Is 19, property owners of the West North Shore Drive proposed Hist- <br />oric District voted in favor of the idea of a district and ac- <br />cepted the preliminary set of standards, including the amendments., <br />as written. <br />Mr. Oxian made a motion that the Commission tentatively approve the <br />West North Shore Drive District's standards and amendments, refer <br />the standards and amendments to the Historic District Committee to <br />be reported on at the next meeting,and that the question of the <br />standards be referred to Gaylen Allsop and the Legal Committee. <br />Mr. Kline seconded. Mrs. Price abstained. All other members <br />voted "aye <br />Mr. Wasielewski and Mr.. Oxian made motions commending the committee <br />which did all the work to set up and write the standards for the <br />members of the North Shore area. (Committee members are Mr. Thomas <br />Broden, Ms. Charlotte Whittaker, Mrs. Winifred Wyatt, and Mrs. Flo <br />Yeandel), Mr. Kline seconded. All voted in favor. <br />2-778 Certificate of Appropriateness: 6501+ U.S. 31 South. <br />The Commission reviewed the renovation plans. Mr. Peck <br />was to consult with Mrs. Sporleder concerning the building's <br />entranceway and windows. Mr. Oxian stated that a banister should <br />definitely be placed at the front stoop. Mr. Kline requested that, <br />if possible, the signs for the building be placed on standards or <br />a pole 3 or 4 feet away from the exterior wa11. A motion was made <br />
