August 20, 1979
Page 6
Mrs. Price then said that she had a copy of the new preservation
bill which has been submitted to Congress. She cited several
problems that occurred when working with the preservation program.
She said Seiberling is the Congressman from Ohio who has intro-
duced a new bill, called, New Directions for the 1980's, which will
deal with a.number of these problems. It may not get any action
this year, but Mrs. Price wanted to apprise the Commission of this
matter. She said that in addition they suggest setting up a Nation-
al Center for the Building Arts in Washington, having to do with
crafts.
Mr. Stamper then informed the Commission that the services of
Trudi Gilbert will be terminated by CETA at the end of September
and he wondered what the Commission wants to do in this regard.
It was decided to have a personnel committee, consisting of the
officers of the Commission, meet Monday, August 27, in the Area
Plan Conference Room at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Price commended John Stamper for all the reports he has been
submitting.
Mr. Oxian then brought up the matter of a fee schedule. He felt
the Commission should charge for the services of writing up the
Certificates of Appropriateness. He discussed this with Mr. Lar-
rison about other services the Commission does and what it costs
to do such work. It would have to be brought up before the Council
• and the Commissioners would support such action. Mr. Oxian then
made a suggestion that John Stamper write up a fee schedule. A
motion was made by Joann Sporleder that John Stamper write up a
proposal for a fee schedule for various services. Mr. Nimz second-
ed this motion, but said it would be difficult to decide whether
such fees would go into the city or the county general fund.• Mr.
Stamper said he had a good book from HCRS which dealt with fee
schedules. All voted in favor.
879 9. Announcements and Miscellaneous Matters
No further announcements.
879 10. Hearing of Visitors
Mr. Conley spoke about some possible hospital rezoning in the
Park Avenue area, but said no landmark or district is involved.
This would involve "C" to "F" rezoning. There was some discussion
on this matter.
879 11. Adjournment
Mr. Nimtz moved that the meeting stand adjourned. Ms. Sporleder
seconded and all voted in favor.
