Tentative standards must also be drawn up <br />for commercial structures. <br />There was no report on the West Washington Historic District. <br />Legal <br />Mrs. Price requested that the Commission write Gaylen W. Allsop for <br />his report. Mr. Wasielewski said he would take care of this very <br />soon. <br />Mr. Wasielewski then said he would entertain recommendations as to <br />the possibility of getting another attorney for the Commission. Ms. <br />Joann Sporleder suggested asking F. Jay Nimtz or Gaylen himself for <br />recommendations. <br />Public Relations and Community Education <br />Mr. Wasielewski asked for volunteers to correspond with Mr. Godellei <br />regarding the exhibit this fall on architects. Mr. Stamper said he <br />would pursue this matter. Ms. Sporleder said she would work with Mr. <br />Godellei. <br />Mrs. Price talked about the fine reaction Mr. Zeigler obtained from <br />the community in his recent visit. It was noted that his presenta- <br />tions were very informative. <br />• Presidential Report <br />Mr. Wasielewski informed the Commission that a contract needs to be <br />authorized between the Commission and John Stamper. The contract, <br />with some changes, has been drawn up. Mrs. Price felt John Stamper <br />should draw up a list of priorities and scope of services. Mr. John <br />Oxian then made a motion that the sum of $1,330.00 be assigned to John <br />Stamper to be used as supplemental payment for extra hours spent on <br />various projects. Mrs. Price seconded and the motion passed. <br />Staff Report <br />John Stamper discussed his attendance at the recent conference in <br />Evansville and mentioned that adaptive reuse of transportation facil- <br />ities was one topic discussed. He spoke about possibly applying for <br />grant money for publication of the Survey. He also mentioned the <br />possibility of a number of different grant possibilities for adaptive <br />reuse of the Palais Royale. Mr. Oxian recommended that this project <br />be held off. There was further discussion on the maritime heritage <br />program concerning inland waterways and the East Race. Mr. Stamper <br />spoke about the need for -a lock -file cabinet. He said the entire <br />set-up, with frames and hangers would come to approximately $200.00 <br />Mr. Wasielewski suggested he get three bids on this item. <br />Mr. STamper then suggested to the Commission that a high quality book <br />be perhaps considered for publication after the City Survey is done, <br />and showed an example from the Nashville Historic Preservation Commis- <br />sion. Mrs. Price suggested setting up a meeting with Crumlish/Sporleder <br />and perhaps come back with some recommendations. Mr. Oxian then dis- <br />cussed the matter of cemeteries.
