February 19, 1979 <br />Page 2 <br />Eric Mewys of the Advisory Council would be in South Bend April 16 <br />and will look into the Tippecanoe Restaurant situation than, " <br />A letter was received from Linda Bronston, who is interested in our <br />Planner's position' <br />279 6Reports <br />Cit Survey <br />Mrs- Price announced that a meeting had been held with the Crum- <br />lish/Sporleder consultants, Carl Armstrong and Dick Gantr from the <br />6HPO/s office in Indianapolis, Tim, Tad, Joann, and Ruth, and Jon <br />Hunt, and that a report would be made. The typing of the state forms <br />can be dome in our office, and should be done by the end of 1979. <br />There was some discussion of the filing, availability, and security <br />of the survey forms which are supposed to be in the office. Some of <br />the cards are apparently missing or misfiled, and Mr. Wasielawskl <br />suggested that Sarah look into what can be done. <br />Budget�and Finance <br />Mr. WaslelewakY appointed John OuVan to head up that committee. <br />Historic Districts <br />John has sent the Edgewater people information on historic districts. <br />A discussion of districts and information about then was given out at <br />a Northwest Property Owners Association meeting, which John attended. <br />Mrs. Price suggested they also investigate the possibilities of a <br />Conservation district. Thera was discussion concerning the possibil- <br />ities of amending our ordinance to accommodate conservation district <br />concepts, the importance of labels relative to NH3 districts and the <br />fact that we can establish particular standards to particular districts, <br />as needs and desires indicate, with our overlay type of historic dis- <br />trict zoning <br />Historic Landmarks <br />John made a motion to have Tippecanoe Place declared a local landmark <br />with the strictest, or /YY/ standards. Ns. Spor/ader seconded. Dis- <br />cussion of standards followed. These motions were withdrawn and Mr. <br />Eokarle moved that the ''/Y/ standards be amended to include "site plans// <br />in the appropriate places in the //A// standards as John indicated. Ms. <br />Sporleder seconded and it was passed unanimously. John than re -sub- <br />mitted his motion for landmark status for Tippecanoe Place under ///Y' <br />standards, and Mrs. Price seconded this motion. It was passed unani- <br />mously. <br />There was some dYac&ssYcw on the merits of 530 South Carroll Street, <br />whose owners were requesting landmark status under '/B" standards' <br />/t was finally moved by John, seconded by Mr. Kline and passed. Mrs. <br />Price abstaining. <br />— Ms. Spmrleder suggested that Mr. Waylelawski write a letter to City <br />Council to inquire of the status of the ordinance which the Commission <br />
