March 21, 1977 <br />Page 6 <br />Ms. Kopczynski then distributed copies of her resignation, <br />effective April 8th, but her last working day would be - <br />April 1st. She informed' -the Commission that she had ac- <br />cepted a position as Associate Librarian in the Civil Rights <br />Center of the Law Library of Notre Dame University. There <br />was discussion about the matter of filling the position of <br />Planner, and Mr. Oxian said that perhaps Ms. Kopczynski <br />could give some input. Mr. Oxian then appointed a search - <br />committee consisting of Mr. Rothermel and.Ms. Deloris Davis - <br />son to look into this matter of Ms. Kopczynski's replacement. <br />Ms. Kopczynski then informed the Commission that the term --of <br />Tom Catanzarite had expired in March. Mr. Oxian then sug- <br />gested that a letter be sent out to see if Mr. Catanzarite <br />be re -appointed to the Commission. <br />Legal Committee <br />Mr. F. Jay Nimtz reported that he had drafted a reply to <br />the brief regarding the Walter Rinderle law suit and had <br />submitted.it to court. He said it was now under advisement <br />under Judge Miller. <br />7. Old Business <br />There was no report <br />8. New Business <br />Mr. Oxian stated that this mention should have been brought up <br />under Budget and Finance and said that he had talked to Tom <br />Catanzarite about the $5,000 grant and if there are any requests <br />for the expenditure of this amount, they should be put together <br />and submitted to Mr. Catanzarite and request the amount of money <br />for these purposes. <br />Mr. Rothermel informed the Commission that since he was already <br />on the Area Plan Commission he would.be willing to serve as the <br />H.P. Commission's representative on the Ci#zen's Advisory <br />Committee, as discussed in Item 8 in the February Minutes. <br />Mr. Oxian wanted to know the status of the pending enabling <br />legislation. Ms. Kopezynski said she felt it was still in <br />Committee and Mr. Nimtz likewise said he did not know its status. <br />Ms. Davisson remarked that perhaps Jim Bellis, who is an arch- <br />eologist on the Notre Dame faculty, and.works with the Depart- <br />ment of Natural Resources could come to a meeting of the Com- <br />mission and bring it up-to-date on relevant matters. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />Both Mrs. Whittaker and Mr. Kline were heard.from previously. <br />
