Mr. Nimtz seconded <br />the former motion and it .passed unanimously. . Ms.. Jeanne <br />Derbeck had some questions on this matter which were then -- <br />clarified by Mr. Wasielewski. Mr. Stivers asked how bind- <br />ing such an easement would be and was told it was "very <br />binding". <br />Public Relations and Community Education <br />Ms. Davisson informed the Commission that yet another seg- <br />ment of historic preservation will be aired at 3:30 p.m - <br />on Thursday, April 7, on Channel 34, and it will concen- <br />trate on the Greek Revival style of architecture. <br />She likewise said a $13,000 grant from the Committee of <br />the Humanities was applied for by IUSB to produce three <br />video-tapes for the game, Architecture - American Style -- <br />and then going out in the community and interviewing per- <br />sons. The game would be the vehicle. The first talk - <br />would be about ageing people and ageing houses. The sec- <br />ond on public policy and the third talk on the future and <br />relationship of architecture. She stressed that these <br />tapes would be available to the public. Also, they would <br />be aired on Channel 2 - cable television. <br />Standards and. Historic Plan <br />Mr. Oxian reported that he and Joann Sporleder had had a <br />meeting and drafted an application for a Certificate -of <br />Appropriateness. He distributed copies of this draft. He <br />said it could be used for either landmarks or districts. <br />He advised the Commission members to look it over and bring <br />their comments and suggestions to the next caucus. <br />Mr. Oxian then said that he and Ms. Sporleder also went over <br />the guidelines for the Review Board and suggested that mem- <br />bers of the Commission and some outside individuals serve on <br />it. Ms. Kopczynski said that possibly an architectural his- <br />torian or certified engineer should be on this Board. Mr.- <br />Oxian stated that possibly members of the Landmarks Commit- <br />tee or the Districts Committee, as well as some other out- <br />side person should serve. Ms. Deloris Davisson asked about <br />compensation for such work and was toldthat it would either <br />be voluntary or paid. Mr. Oxian then said that Ms. Sporleder <br />suggested that the Standards as well as the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness or other legal papers should be placed in <br />the County Recorder's office. <br />Ms. Davisson then discussed the standards which applied to <br />landmarked. structures and who would police such structures. - <br />She was told by Mr. Oxian, that, for the most part, the land, <br />marked structures fell under_ "B" standards and that the Build- <br />ing Department was -the policing -body. -Ms. Davisson voiced her <br />
