March 9, 1976 <br />Page 2 <br />this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Mrs. Gilbert next read a copy of a letter from Mr. Robert C. <br />Gaede to Mr. Brian Crumlish stating that he would be pleased <br />to return to South Bend to consult on the final stages of the <br />County Survey. <br />Several announcements from the National Trust and the Northern <br />Indiana Historical Society were distributed. - <br />Correspondence with Mr. Edward Lawrence concerning methods that <br />are available for preserving architectural or landmark districts <br />was likewise submitted. <br />A letter and resume were next submitted from Elaine Wolfe who <br />was inquiring about possible summer internships with the Com- <br />mission. It was suggested that CETA be checked in regard to <br />their summer work program. <br />6. 'Committee Reports <br />Mr. Smith reported that there were new Committee appointments <br />and each Commission member has already received the revised <br />list of Committees and their current members. <br />Budget and Finance <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the Commission would be receiving <br />$12,000 in Community Development Funds for a City Survey. <br />Historic Districts <br />Mr. Ted Wasielewski, Chairman, stressed the need for defining <br />the objectives of this Committee and the criteria for historic <br />districts. He stated that he would soon get.together with the <br />members of this Committee. <br />Historic Landmarks <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the Gerald Kline residence was declaxed <br />an Historical. Landmark by the Common Council. Both Mr. Rans= <br />berger and Mr. Kidder approved the B Standards for their res- <br />pective homes and Mr. Bauman will be sending his acceptance soon. <br />He then stated that the Landmarks Committee was proposing three <br />more county homes for possible Landmark designation: 13546 Brick <br />Road, 60717 Locust Road, and 63049 Turkey Trail. All the owners <br />have been contacted and voiced their acceptance. Mr. Oxian then <br />made a motion that all three homes be designated as Landmarks by <br />Ordinance under the Class B Standards designation. Mr. Stivers <br />seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. <br />f <br />
