Mr. Stivers seconded it and it passed <br />unanimously. <br />Ms. Davisson then reported that the Art History class at Notre Dame <br />completed about ten reports on historic landmarks and copies are <br />ready to give to the Commission. <br />5. Correspondence <br />At the suggestion of Mr. Jack Smith, Mrs. Gilbert read a letter <br />dated December 8., 1975, from Jack Dunfee in which he included a <br />statement for services rendered in the amount of $600.00. Mr. <br />Smith replied to this letter, stating previous correspondence <br />which indicated that Mr. Dunfee would donate his services and in- <br />forming Mr. Dunfee that all the funds for 1975 have been expended. <br />Mr. Dunfee replied in his December 17 letter that he understands <br />the decision of -the Commission and awaits the Commission's initia- <br />tive with regards to a negotiation for legal services during the <br />year 1976. Mr. Smith suggested that this correspondence be.brought <br />to the attention of Mr. Nimtz. Mr. Oxian remarked that the Legal <br />Committee should handle legal matters, but that it would eventually <br />cost the Commission money for legal services. <br />Mrs. Gilbert next introduced a renewal form for membership in the <br />Association for Preservation Technology. She advised the Commission <br />that the fee had increased to $30.00 and wondered if this membership <br />is necessary. It was suggested thet she discuss this with Ms. Sporleder. <br />A letter from Governor Bowen to Mr. Jack Smith, dated December 9, was <br />then read. It referred to the need of professional staff"positions <br />in the Department of Natural Resources, Historical Preservation <br />.Section, Division of Museums and Memorials, and the Governor's <br />awareness of the need for federal funds for preservation.- Mrs. Gil- <br />bert mentioned that as of January 6, the position of Director of the <br />State Museum has not been filled. <br />She then remarked that a letter to the County Council had been sent <br />regarding the February 71 term of office expiration date for Mr. Al <br />Stivers. A similar communication was sent to the Common Council in- <br />forming them that Ms. Woolridge's term of office expires on Janua�7 28. <br />6. Committee Reports <br />Budget and Finance <br />Mr. Oxian reported that he had talked with Mr. Ryker as well as <br />two council men regarding the availability of Community Develop- <br />ment Funds. Mr. Smith mentioned that be had had a meeting with <br />Mr. Gilkey. <br />Historic Districts <br />Mr. Smith infoz med the Commission that Mr. F. Jay Nimtz would <br />be late due to a prior committment. <br />
