December 20, 1976
Page 2
Rita Kopczynski - reimbursement for expenses
incurred in reception for homeowners in
plaquing ceremony 25.00
Rita Kopczynski for services rendered.for
December 1,000.00
Mr. Oxian wanted clarification on the Makielski Art Shop expenditure
and was informed that two copies of the Auto Tour Map were being framed
for hanging in the office. Mr. Nimtz then moved that the Treasurer's
report be accepted as submitted and the expenditures be approved for
payment. Mr. Catanzarite seconded this motion and it passed unanimously.
Ms. Davisson then asked Commission approval to have Belle Pendleton work
for the Commission as a researcher on the City Survey. She proposed to
employ her for ten days at a cost of $200. She said she had done very
creditable work this summer for the Commission. Mr. Oxian asked how she
could work on the City Survey and was informed by Ms. Kopczynski that
there were about forty survey cards from the near northwest area that
could have historical research done on these structures. Mr. Catanzarite
wanted clarification on what funds would be used for payment. Ms: Davi-
sson informed him that $1,000. of the $12,000 from the Community Devel-
opment Funds for the City Survey were earmarked for "technical assistance"
and Ms. Pendleton's payment would come fx-= this source. Mr. Nimtz made
a motion that the Commission authorize Ms. Pendleton's employment. Ms.
Davisson seconded this motion and it passed unanimously.
Ms. Kopczynski then informed the Commission that she had had a discussion
with Mr. Aker of the State Board of Accounts regarding the Commission's
fiscal matters and she would very much like to meet with Mr. Catanzarite-
about the budget and its accounting.
5. Correspondence
Ms. Kopczynski reported that she had received confirmation and
documentation from Mr. Gantz in regard to the $5,000 National Park
Service grant. She read portions of this letter and reported to
the Commission that payment would be made in the first part of
January, 1977.
She then reada letter received from R. A. Boehning, Chairman of
the Indiana State Highway Commission regarding the "fault" in the
roadway of US 31 at North Shore Boulevard about which Mr. Kline had
previously spoken. It stated, in part, that a raised spot was found
by their Division of Maintenance which, however, "does not appear to
be a situation that would vibrate Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kline's house."
Their maintenance personnel will maintain a surveillance of this
area and schedule an asphalt overlay next spring.
Mr. Smith informed the Commission that he had. received a nice let=
ter from Marsha Mullin thanking the Commission for the recommenda-
tion that resulted in her obtaining the position of Museum Planner
at the.Century Center.
Mr. Oxian again questioned the work Ms. Pendleton would be doing
