October 27, 1975 <br />Page 2 <br />5. Treasurer's Report <br />Ms. Davisson distributed copies of the current balances in the <br />line items of the budget. This report was duly noted and Mr. <br />Nimtz made a motion that it be approved as submitted. Ms. Spor- <br />leder seconded this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Ms. Davisson then submitted the following bills for approval for <br />payment: $7.10 to Insty-Print for duplicating copies of the speech <br />outline for the National Trust Convention; $5.20 to Mrs. McMahon <br />for photographic prints; $22.82 also to Mrs. McMahon and $47.01 <br />to Ms. Sporleder for travel expenses to Bloomington for the 7th <br />Annual Convention on Historic Preservation on September 19th and <br />20th; $200.00 each to Mr. Jack Smith and Mr. John Oxian to defray <br />expenses to attend the Annual Meeting of the National Trust in <br />Boston, the week of 0ct6belocfth. She also submitted bills of <br />$14.91 for postage charges for the month of Septerdbrer and $7.00 <br />for duplicating charges also for September. Mr. Nimtz moved – <br />that these bills be approved for payment. Ms. Sporleder second— <br />ed this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />Ms. Sporleder then requested that a letter, drafted by Firs. McMahon., <br />be sent to Governor Bm-Ten regarding the fine work Mr. Eric Gilbert- <br />son is doing at the State Historic Preservation Office and his need <br />for an assistant. Mrs. McMahon read the draft and *after an addi- <br />tional inclusion Mr. Nimtz moved that the letter be dispatched. <br />Mrs. Sporleder seconded this motion and it passed unanimously. <br />11r. Jack Smith then said he had contacted Pat Newman in Washington, <br />As well as Joe Cloud, Carl Armstrong and Governor Bowen concerning <br />this matter. <br />Mr. John Oxian then proposed that 1,1r. Klinets residence at 113 South <br />Shore Drive be declared an historic landmark. He mentioned this <br />would be thelast home adopted before the standards go into effect. <br />He said the proposal is ready to go before the council. John Oxian <br />made a motion that the Commission accept this home as an historic <br />landmark. 11r. Nimtz seconded this motion and it passed unanimously <br />and was referred to Area Plan Commission for their recommendation. <br />Mr. Oxian then discussed the standards. He explained the vaxious <br />groups of landmarks: A, B, and C. Mrs. Sporleder suggested the <br />appointment of a Review Board, who had professional expertise to con- <br />sider Certificates of Appropriateness. She also said that changes <br />in these standards should be made as needed. I.Ir. Oxian made a <br />motion that these standards be adopted. Ms. Davisson seconded this <br />motion and it passed unanimously. <br />6. Correspondence <br />Mrs. Ilclfahon stated that the Commission had received a letter <br />I . <br />
