National Trust Meeting <br />Mr. Oxian said that he will prepare a written <br />report on his observations while attending the <br />meeting in Portland and present it to the Com- <br />mission at the next meeting. He also showed the <br />Commission a booklet which he -thought the Com- <br />mission might be.interested in ordering for its <br />library: How Do We Know It Is Us Without Our Past? <br />(PortlandHistor ci al Landmarks Commission, Portland, <br />Oregon, 1974). <br />f. Absentee members <br />A discussion ensued as to how the Commission could <br />work effectively when some of its members were <br />never in attendance. Mr. Rothermel suggested that <br />letters be sent to the absent members and to their <br />appointing bodies, reviewing their participation <br />on the Commission and the problems that their <br />absence created. <br />10.
