JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA Minutes Conference Room, Fourth Floor, County -City Building Members Present: Mrs. William Davisson, F. Jay Nimtz, John Oxian, A. E. Paszek,, Russell Rothermel, John L. Smith, Mrs. Donald Sporleder, Mrs. George W. Woolridge Others Present: Mrs. -Judy Studer and Mr. Richard Johnson, Staff, -Area Plan_ - Commission 1. Call to Order Chairman Smith called the Commission to order at -7:45 p.m. All members were present except Mr. Baker. 2. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the February.]] meeting were approved as printed by a unanimous vote of acceptance. 3. Terms of Office Since the terms of office for each member of the Commission was not clear, the chairman asked.the following to obtain the information sought: Mrs. Woolridge for the Common Council of South Bend appointments Mrs. Davisson for the Mayor of South Bend appointments Mr. Paszek for County Council appointments 4.. Services From the Area Plan Commission Mr.,Rothermel reported that the following assistance will be given by the Area Plan Commission office staff: duplication of material, mailing, typing, and preparation of.the agenda for monthly meetings. This help the Historic Preservation Commission graciously accepts. 5. Assistance From Other Sources Mrs. Davisson reported students in the Schools of Architecture and Political Science, University of Notre Dame, will be available for assistance. Mrs. Davisson presented each member of the Commission a brochure describing the program, "People, Policy and Urban Walls" to be presented March 21 at the Center for Continuing Education, University of Notre Dame. This program is sponsored jointly by.Indiana University -South Bend, University of.Notre Dame, City of South Bend, and the Visual Improvement Program of South BendArt Center, Inc. 6. Southhold Restoration, Inc. Surveys Mr. Nimtz reported that Southhold Restorations, Inc., will make available to the Commission, copies of its surveys of historic districts which it has made. Finding a way to reproduce the large maps which have been prepared will be a difficulty which will have to be overcome.
