JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA <br />Minutes <br />Conference Room, Fourth Floor, <br />County -City Building <br />Members Present: Mrs. William Davisson, F. Jay Nimtz, John Oxian, A. E. Paszek,, <br />Russell Rothermel, John L. Smith, Mrs. Donald Sporleder, <br />Mrs. George W. Woolridge <br />Others Present: Mrs. -Judy Studer and Mr. Richard Johnson, Staff, -Area Plan_ <br />- Commission <br />1. Call to Order <br />Chairman Smith called the Commission to order at -7:45 p.m. All members <br />were present except Mr. Baker. <br />2. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the February.]] meeting were approved as printed by a <br />unanimous vote of acceptance. <br />3. Terms of Office <br />Since the terms of office for each member of the Commission was not clear, <br />the chairman asked.the following to obtain the information sought: <br />Mrs. Woolridge for the Common Council of South Bend appointments <br />Mrs. Davisson for the Mayor of South Bend appointments <br />Mr. Paszek for County Council appointments <br />4.. Services From the Area Plan Commission <br />Mr.,Rothermel reported that the following assistance will be given by the <br />Area Plan Commission office staff: duplication of material, mailing, typing, <br />and preparation of.the agenda for monthly meetings. This help the Historic <br />Preservation Commission graciously accepts. <br />5. Assistance From Other Sources <br />Mrs. Davisson reported students in the Schools of Architecture and Political <br />Science, University of Notre Dame, will be available for assistance. <br />Mrs. Davisson presented each member of the Commission a brochure describing <br />the program, "People, Policy and Urban Walls" to be presented March 21 at the <br />Center for Continuing Education, University of Notre Dame. This program is <br />sponsored jointly by.Indiana University -South Bend, University of.Notre Dame, <br />City of South Bend, and the Visual Improvement Program of South BendArt Center, <br />Inc. <br />6. Southhold Restoration, Inc. Surveys <br />Mr. Nimtz reported that Southhold Restorations, Inc., will make available <br />to the Commission, copies of its surveys of historic districts which it has <br />made. Finding a way to reproduce the large maps which have been prepared will <br />be a difficulty which will have to be overcome. <br />
