Jay Nimtz, chairman pro tempore called the meeting to order -by' reviewing a suggested list of agenda items for the first meeting of. they': Commission.and immediately asked for an election of officers. 2. Election of Officers The following slate "of officers were individually elected by a,unahimous•- affirmative ballot for the ensuing year and until ,the next election of officers is held. Chairman: John L. Smith + Vice Chairman: John Oxian Secretary: Russell W. Rothermel Treasurer: Mrs. William Davisson Mr. John L. Smith assumed the chairmanship of the meeting and proceeded with the agenda. 3. Election of Ninth Member By.mandate of the Ordinance, -the ninth member of the Commission was to be elected by the eight members appointed and this member was.,to,,be an archi- tectural"historian. (Copy included with minutes.) Mrs. Donald (Joanne).Sporleder was unanimously elected the•ninth'member .after assurance that it was with her consent. The secretary was ordered to write a letter to Mrs. Spoileder informing her of her appointment. 4. Letters to Governina Bodies and Others The president ordered the secretary to write letters to the four governing bodies (Boers of Commissioners of St. Joseph County, County Council, the Mayor - of South Bend, and Common Council -of -South Bend) the Area Pian Commission, and the Building Departments of St. Joseph'County and the City of South Bend informing each of the following items:
