NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued... <br />Commission referred the proposals to staff for <br />resolution of outstanding issues. <br />b. Commission authorization requested to <br />allow soil borings on part of Disposition <br />Parcel 11 in the Sample -Ewing Development <br />Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that Mr. Hayes has <br />asked permission to have soil borings done on <br />the property. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hunt, seconded by Mr. <br />Donoho and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission authorized soil borings to be <br />taken from Disposition Parcel 11 in the <br />Sample -Ewing Development Area. <br />d. Report to Commission on results of <br />environmental testing in the Sample -Ewing <br />Development Area. <br />Mr. Matt Stokes, ATEC Associates, made a <br />presentation on the environmental testing they <br />did on the former Avanti site. <br />Mr. Stokes noted that the Redevelopment <br />Commission retained ATEC to take soil <br />samples from the former Avanti site and test <br />for volatile organic compounds. They took <br />twelve soil borings, primarily on the east side <br />of the property where Avanti had an <br />automotive repair shop. There were some oil <br />pits there that have already been removed at <br />the direction of the Commission.
